As the title suggests, we are just two teachers.

Marilyn has been teaching for 27 years, mostly in third grade, but has experience in 1st and 2nd as well. She is currently part of the TEAM WCSD Teacher Consultation Group which is working to streamline digital access of District adopted curriculum and approved supplemental resources for all students in our district.

Marilyn has been part of the 21st Century Leader’s Network since 2016 and in 2018 was featured as a 21st Century Practioner in the Spotlight. In 2019, Marilyn was recognized as a 21st Century exemplar educator, bringing best practices, and 21st Century competencies to her students.

In 2016, Marilyn was also awarded Excellence in Education based on her efforts to bring innovative technology into her classroom. Marilyn was also an on-site NELIP coach, working with colleagues on methods to teach fundamental reading skills in grades K-3.   

Aaron has been in education for over 20 years, 17 in Washoe County. He worked as an intermediate grade teacher at Veterans Elementary, a Title 1 building, before becoming an instructional coach. In 2009, Aaron moved to the Office of School Performance as a School Improvement Coordinator. In 2011, Aaron started working at the district’s curriculum and instruction department.

Aaron returned to the classroom in 2015. In 2017 he was named Washoe’s Teacher of the Year and in 2018 he was a Nevada Teacher of the Year finalist. Currently, Aaron teaches 3rdgrade at Roy Gomm Elementary.
